Bacon Cookies

And the weekend ends with more food.

Phor and I met at A Voce Columbus in the Time Warner Center.  It's a lovely space where we saw views like this.

I understand why there are so many restaurants in the Time Warner and we honestly had the best table in the house.  On one side we saw Columbus Circle and on the other we saw the rest of the dining room.  I love people watching in a restaurant.  So many odd pairings of people and the conversations run from the intriguing to the inane.

I was done making decisions about food so Phor chose our menu.

I think all restaurants should bring out focaccia bread with a ricotta spread like this one.

Insalata di scarola with escarole, warm pancetta vinaigrette, soft boiled egg, pecorino romano

Stracci with porcini pasta, porcini, parmigiano reggiano

Uova in purgatorio with poached eggs, san marzano tomatoes, rosemary, pecorino

Pancetta which they describe as crispy italian bacon.  We saw on a lot of other tables and Phor was convinced they were Italian cookies until we got them delivered to our table.  They do like look bacon cookies.

Of course we ordered dessert.  We actually ordered a lemon one but the Bomboloni came instead.  It was a fortuitous mistake.

I told Phor about an even better view of Central Park from Asiate at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.  We made our way to the 30 something floor to see this.  It was worth the climb.
