I Love Brooklyn

Phor was in town this weekend and it was the most perfect weather for June.  Our first priority was seeing Radiohead but more on that in a later post.  We left Saturday open but knew that it must be spent outdoors.

First order of business, going to Smorgasburg to eat these.

Dough donuts are the best donuts in NYC.  I've eaten a few at some of the well known locations and these are the perfect combination of softness and flavor.  I even think they are better than Doughnut Plant.

We split a great pulled pork sandwich here but we filled up on the donuts.

Phor taking it all in.  There was a nice crowd on Saturday but not overwhelming.

We then headed over to the Brooklyn Flea Market and walked through Fort Greene and downtown to our destination in Brooklyn Heights.  The homes there are gorgeous and well worth the walk around the neighborhood.

We ended up walking on the Promenade with a lot of high school students going to prom.  It was a mass gathering of prom dates and wedding parties on Saturday.

We walked down to DUMBO and just enjoyed the gorgeous view of the bridges and lower Manhattan.

That is Freedom Tower being built in the distance.
